Let's talk wishlists. You've noticed shoppers adding products to their carts, leaving, and never coming back. A wishlist gives them a reason to return, and gives you a window into what they actually want. What's next? Time to start the dreaded search for the right Shopify wishlist app to capture that intent.
I'm sure that sounds familiar. Virtually every Shopify merchant reaches a point where they want to let customers save their favourite products for later. And let's be honest, it's hard not to get overwhelmed about choosing the right wishlist app for your store, given the growing number of Shopify wishlist apps showcased in the Shopify App Store.
Full disclosure. We're obviously on the list, but we've built a wishlist that works alongside our customer account widget or as a standalone, without locking you into an expensive plan or trapping your data.
How we tested the best wishlist apps for Shopify
Store owners must consider a myriad of aspects before deciding to try out an app. To make it easy, we've started with 5 of the most relevant players in the Shopify wishlist space and analysed each app across a 5-point methodology:
- Clear pricing (monthly cost)
We asked ourselves whether it was clear what plans the apps offer and for what store sizes they're designed. - Affordability level (yearly cost)
We wanted to know whether the app was affordable over the long haul (yearly cost) across different store sizes. - Critical features
We dug to find out whether the app not only has the minimum necessary wishlist features, but also really helps customers come back and buy. One crucial aspect we paid attention to was whether you could get your wishlist data out of the app. - Complementary features
We checked whether the app offers additional functionalities besides the wishlist that could enhance its core offer or customer experience. - App reputation
We researched whether the app has good ratings, positive reviews, and has been on the market for at least 3 years.
We consider exporting and importing your wishlist data from one app to another extremely important, especially if you ever want to switch apps. The difference between a smooth transition and starting from zero is what can strengthen or break your store’s customer experience. We’ll flag how that works in every app.
We chose this approach because we want you to be able to scan how each app compares, since you're best equipped to decide for yourself rather than being sold.
1. Froonze Wishlist
Froonze is a full-fledged customer account solution with a Wishlist plugin that works standalone or as part of a complete retention solution that includes the Account widget, Loyalty Program, Referrals, and Forms. It works with both Shopify legacy accounts and the New Customer Accounts, and it's one of the few Shopify wishlist apps to put every feature, including email alerts and data import/export, on the free plan.
Clear pricing (monthly cost of Froonze)
Froonze's wishlist plugin price ranges from free to $40 per month. It offers 4 easy-to-understand plans, so busy Shopify merchants will be happy to discover that choosing a plan is a no-brainer:
Small Shopify merchants who stay under the free plan's order limit get access to every wishlist feature Froonze offers, including email notifications and import/export at no cost.
Large Shopify stores with more than 1000 monthly orders will pay only $40 a month for unlimited orders and, again, access to every wishlist feature.
Froonze's wishlist plans are based purely on monthly orders, not on features or wishlist actions. There's no feature gating and no overage fees; if you outgrow a tier, you move up to the next one.
Head over to Froonze's pricing page for a full price breakdown and feature list.
Affordability level (yearly cost of Froonze)
Froonze shows that adding a wishlist to Shopify should not only be an affordable endeavour, but the norm.
Smaller merchants who exceed the free plan's limit will pay $120 per year. If the 500 monthly order limit is exceeded, the upgrade will cost just $240 per year.
Larger stores with more than 1,000 orders will pay $480 a year for unlimited orders and the full feature set.
Considering that the free plan already includes everything most stores need, paying under $500 a year, at most, for a wishlist that brings shoppers back to buy is a steal.
Critical features in Froonze
Froonze offers all the essentials that a truly affordable, high-performing Shopify wishlist app should:
- Add-to-wishlist buttons on product and collection pages
- Guest wishlist (no login or account required)
- Email notifications for back-in-stock, low-stock, and price drops
- Wishlist sharing via link and social media
- Wishlist analytics (e.g. most-wishlisted products, ordered value)
- Multi-language translations and full text editing
- Custom CSS and JavaScript for styling and placement
Wishlist data export and import in Froonze
Froonze offers self-serve export and import of your wishlist data on every plan. Shopify merchants can import and export wishlist items based on product ID or product handle, and even variant ID, then map them to customers based on the Shopify customer ID or customer email address.
Our support team offers completely free assistance with your wishlist data migration if you switch from another app.
Complementary features in Froonze
Froonze provides merchants the freedom to choose and pay only for the additional plugins they need or want:
- Loyalty (points, VIP tiers, referrals, native Shopify store credit, POS rewards)
- Account (a customer account page with orders, profile, and recently viewed)
- Forms (profile and page forms)
Froonze's modules not only enhance the core wishlist but also create an integrated customer ecosystem, resulting in a smaller app stack.
App reputation of Froonze
Froonze boasts a 4.9-star rating on the Shopify App Store with over 250 reviews. It was founded in 2021, so it has been on the market for 4 years.
Shopify merchants highlight the app's ease of use and impeccable customer support. Most reviews mention the extensive customisation options, especially for widget appearance, email notifications, texts and translations. Several merchants also specifically praise the team's help in migrating wishlist data from other apps.
2. Swym Wishlist Plus
Swym Wishlist Plus is an established wishlist app on Shopify, with a strong focus on shopper-behaviour reporting and automated email re-engagement.
Clear pricing (monthly cost of Swym)
Swym's prices range from $29.99 to $99.99 per month. There's no free plan, only a 30-day free trial, and the 3 paid plans are billed based on monthly "wishlist actions":
Smaller stores start at $30 a month once the trial ends, which is a steep entry point. The catch is that you're not paying for orders or even customers, you're paying for "wishlist actions", each time a customer adds a product to the wishlist.
Larger stores that need APIs and the JavaScript SDK will pay $99.99 a month for the Premium plan, since developer access is reserved for the top tier.
To get a taste of the Enterprise plan, you need to go through sales to request a quote. And while Swym’s website mentions 100,000+ actions per month, their in-app billing dashboard tells a bigger story of 250,000+ actions per month. And while Swym’s Enterprise plan doesn’t have a lifetime cap, the mismatched information is a bit of a red flag in terms of clear pricing communication.
Affordability level (yearly cost of Swym)
Swym offers yearly billing on each paid plan, which softens the cost a little.
Smaller stores that move off the free plan will pay around $300 per year (Starter at $299.99/year).
Larger stores that want the full feature set, APIs, and higher action limits will pay up to $999.99 per year for Premium, and way more for Enterprise.
Swym is a capable app, but the action-based pricing means your bill scales with shopper engagement rather than with your revenue, which can feel unpredictable for a growing store.
Critical features in Swym
Swym covers the wishlist essentials well:
- Add to wishlist from product and collection pages
- Guest wishlist and multiple lists
- Save for later from the cart
- Email, SMS, social, and link sharing
- Price-drop, restock, and low-stock email alerts
- Detailed shopper-behaviour reporting
- Shopify POS and Customer Accounts support
- REST APIs and JavaScript SDK (Premium plan only)
Out-of-the-box customisation is fairly limited, and several merchants note that deeper styling changes require a support request.
Wishlist data export and import in Swym
Swym does let you export your wishlist data, but not on a self-serve basis; you have to request an export by contacting their team. Programmatic access through the REST API is available only on the Premium plan. So getting your data out is possible, just not instant, which might be a drawback for Shopify merchants in a rush.
Complementary features in Swym
Swym keeps its focus on the wishlist and related re-engagement marketing. It doesn't bundle loyalty, reviews, or customer accounts, though it does offer a separate back-in-stock app, which can add to app cost and bloat if you're already juggling multiple tools.
App reputation of Swym
Swym has a 4.7-star rating on the Shopify App Store with over 1,400 reviews. It was founded in 2016, so it has been on the market for around 10 years.
Merchants praise its reliability, POS integration, and multiple-list support. The most common complaints are about limited out-of-the-box customisation, the action-based pricing, and the Smart Save feature adding items that shoppers didn't choose.
3. Swish (Wishlist King)
Swish, formerly known as Wishlist King, is a polished, design-focused wishlist app aimed at stores that care about a high-end storefront experience.
Clear pricing (monthly cost of Swish)
Swish's prices range from $19 to $99 per month. There's no free plan. only a 30-day free trial. Pricing is tied to your Shopify plan rather than to usage:
Every plan includes every feature with unlimited wishlists and saved items; the price scales only with your Shopify plan. That's clean and predictable, but it also means a low-volume store on the standard Shopify plan pays $29 a month regardless of how few wishlists it actually has.
Affordability level (yearly cost of Swish)
Swish offers yearly billing with roughly 17% off.
Smaller stores on the Basic Shopify plan will pay $190 per year, and stores on the standard Shopify plan will pay $290 per year.
Larger stores on Advanced Shopify will pay $490 per year, and Shopify Plus merchants will pay $990 per year.
Because pricing follows your Shopify plan rather than your wishlist usage, Swish can be an excellent value for a high-volume store and less so for a small store that's already on a mid-tier Shopify plan.
Critical features in Swish
- One-click add from anywhere on the store
- Guest wishlist (accounts optional)
- Save for later from the cart
- Public share links, plus email and social sharing
- Analytics and wishlist insights
- Price, stock, and purchase alert emails
- Full front-end control via a code editor and JavaScript events
- Multi-language and custom branding via the Shopify Theme Editor
The animations and overall polish are a step above most competitors, which is why design-conscious brands gravitate to it.
Wishlist data export and import in Swish
Swish's data portability is limited. The app only allows export of wishlist data one product at a time; there's no self-serve export option for all wishlist data across your catalogue, and no self-serve import option either. Swish's team can import existing wishlists from another app for you. That helps you move in.
Complementary features in Swish
Swish is a pure-play wishlist specialist. There's no loyalty, reviews, or forms; it does one thing, and that’s it.
App reputation of Swish
Swish has a 5-star rating on the Shopify App Store with close to 300 reviews. It launched in 2015, so it has been on the market for around 10 years, and it carries the Built for Shopify badge.
Merchants consistently praise the clean design, smooth animations, and support. The most common requests are for a wishlist drawer instead of a dedicated page, and the lack of a free plan is a barrier for smaller stores testing the waters.
4. Growave Wishlist
Growave isn't a standalone wishlist app; it bundles wishlist, loyalty, reviews, and referrals into a single platform.
Clear pricing (monthly cost of Growave)
Growave's prices range from free to $499 per month. It offers a free plan and 3 paid plans:
The wishlist is bundled into the suite; you can't buy "just the wishlist" on a paid tier. That's great if you want loyalty and reviews too, and expensive if all you need is a wishlist.
The paid plans charge overage fees ($10–$20 per additional 100 orders), and back-in-stock wishlist emails are gated to the $199/month Growth plan.
Affordability level (yearly cost of Growave)
Smaller stores that move off the free plan to Entry will pay around $180 per year, and that doesn’t include the overage charges.
Larger stores on Growth or Plus will pay roughly $2,400 to $6,000 per year, depending on the plan and order volume, and almost $12,000 per year on the Unlimited plan.
Growave can be a good option if you're using several features of the app. As a wishlist alone, it's the most expensive option on this list.
Critical features in Growave
The wishlist itself is well-rounded:
- Guest wishlist, favourites, save-for-later, public lists
- Email, social, and link sharing
- Price and stock alerts (restock emails on Growth and up)
- Conversion analytics
- Multi-language support
- Works with New Customer Accounts, POS, and headless
Wishlist data export and import in Growave
Growave includes CSV data import and export, even on the free plan, which makes it one of the more portable options here. If you ever decide to move, your data comes with you.
Complementary features in Growave
Growave gives you other complimentary products, including loyalty, VIP tiers, referrals, and product reviews. For a store that wants to use these products, it’s worth considering.
App reputation of Growave
Growave has a 4.8-star rating on the Shopify App Store with over 1,200 reviews. It launched in 2014, so it has been on the market for over 10 years, the oldest app on this list.
Merchants like the all-in-one approach, the customisation help, and the responsive support. The main complaints are about page-load weight from the bundled features, an internal editor that some find limited, and the cost at scale.
5. Hulk Wishlist
Hulk AI Wishlist & Favorites is a feature-dense wishlist app from HulkApps, a long-established Shopify developer with a large app catalogue. It carries the Built for Shopify badge and supports both B2C and B2B wishlist workflows.
Clear pricing (monthly cost of Hulk)
Hulk's prices range from free to $49.90 per month. It offers a free plan and 5 paid plans, billed on a monthly wishlist items-basis:
The free plan covers the basics, guest wishlist, a wishlist page, and email and social sharing, but leaves out alerts and branding removal.
The $9.90 Growth plan is the standout value: it already includes price-drop and back-in-stock alerts, multiple wishlists, remove branding, Klaviyo and Mailchimp/Omnisend, and Shopify Flow.
Each tier caps the number of wishlist items your customers can save per month (500 on Free, 5,000 on Growth, 25,000 on Pro), so a busy store can hit the ceiling mid-cycle and stop capturing new saves until the next month or an upgrade.
Affordability level (yearly cost of Hulk)
Hulk offers yearly billing at roughly 17% off.
Smaller stores on Growth will pay around $99 per year, which is among the lowest yearly costs on this list for a plan that includes email alerts.
Larger stores on Pro or Scale will pay around $249 to $499 per year, with Scale adding unlimited items, priority support, and API access.
Critical features in Hulk
Hulk packs in a deep feature set:
- Add-to-wishlist with variant support and custom icon positioning
- Guest wishlist with list merging after login
- Multiple wishlist boards
- Price-drop, low-stock, and back-in-stock email alerts (Growth plan and up)
- Email and social sharing
- Wishlist analytics
- Multi-language and custom CSS/JS
- Integrates with various third-party apps (e.g., Shopify Flow, Klaviyo, etc.)
Wishlist data export and import in Hulk
Hulk supports CSV import and export of wishlist items by SKU, email, or customer group, which makes it a portable option for moving data in or out. On the Shopify listing, the export feature sits on the Pro plan and up, with API access on Scale, so portability is there, just on the higher tiers.
Complementary features in Hulk
The wishlist itself is standalone; there's no loyalty, reviews, or account bundle. HulkApps does offer a broad catalogue of separate apps (forms, product options, and more), but they're individual installs, not part of this one.
App reputation of Hulk
Hulk has a 4.7-star rating on the Shopify App Store with over 130 reviews, and it carries the Built for Shopify badge. It was launched in 2020. It comes from HulkApps, an established Shopify developer.
Merchants most often praise the responsive support team that helps with setup and customisation. However, support intervenes a lot, out of necessity, in the customisation and setup flows rather than enabling merchants to do it themselves. There were some complaints about features being gated behind higher tiers, including data export, which sits on the higher Pro plan rather than the entry tiers.
